Moving Pictures Short Film Night
A Short Summary

March 14, 2019

We’ve heard it before: you got places to go and people to meet, and sometimes a full-length movie just doesn’t fit into the schedule.

Hey, we get it—at Moving Pictures Cinema, we’re busy too. Busy putting on a short film night, that is! Co-hosted with actor Conor Charlton, Moving Pictures Short Film Night is a recurring screening of shorts made by London-based filmmakers, the perfect way to sprinkle some incredible cinema into your day.

The Cinema’s cozy lounge inside the Mercato Metropolitano was the perfect place for moviegoers to catch up before the night’s films, and, aided with a wide selection of drinks from the Cinema’s bar, became a networking opportunity for filmmakers and those interested in London’s film scene.

The night’s collection of shorts had a film for everyone, from the cerebral sci-fi lover to the Chinatown enthusiast. Comedy, horror, drama and thrillers were shown, allowing the audience a taste of truly innovative works within multiple genres.

The Moving Pictures Short Film Night created a true community for film lovers by giving London-based film creators a space to show their work, network with other filmmakers, and enjoy a night of drinks, food, and laughs at Moving Pictures Cinema. However, to quote The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: DON’T PANIC if you’ve missed last night’s event. On Wednesday, March 20th, female filmmakers will be the focus for our next Short Film Night. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Dr. Rebekah Louisa Smith and many of the film’s creators. Step away from the day’s hectic schedule and come join us!
